Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., the 2nd largest vehicle manufacturer in Japan, was established in the year 1933. It was founded as a part of one of the most powerful Japanese conglomerates, the Nissan Group. This lead to the formation of a subsidiary division called Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. in 1999, it merged with 2 other producers forming the famous Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.

Together, these three make for the fourth largest manufacturer worldwide. In 2013, Nissan alone became the sixth largest automaker globally. While it expanded to countries across the globe, the company established its manufacturing units in other countries too. In Australia, Nissan sells as well as manufactures vehicles. In the past few years, it has made to the list of top-10 most-selling cars in the country.
